Other Metals on the Table
With all the different types of metals on the Periodic Table, there are a few that don't quite fit in with the masses. These elements are known as ordinary metals, other metals. They are Aluminum(Al), Gallium(Ga), Indium(In), Tin(Sn), Thallium(Tl), Lead(Pb), Bismuth(Bi), and Polonium(Po).
Information on some of the Ordinary Metals
Aluminum(Al) is element #13 and is light in weight, strong, yet cheap. It can be found from airplanes to kitchen equipment. It does not rust, unlike steel does. Though Aluminum reacts with the air, its rust is one of the hardest substances. It is used in cooking Alum, emergency blankets, heat sinks, pots, and medical Alum.
Lead(Pb) is element #82 and bullets are made out of it. It is a toxic element but has been used in many items for over a thousand years. It has been used in pipes, coins, smoking pipes and in hand shields for radiation treatment.
