What is an Element?
There are 118 elements on the Periodic Table, and are named by the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC). 114 elements have been named by IUPAC, skipping element 113 and naming element 114 flerovium (Fl) in 2012. And naming element 116 livermorium (Lv) in 2012 also. "An element is a chemical substance that cannot be broken-down into any simpler substances by chemical reactions" (IvyRoses). The elements that have an atomic number above 83 are considered radioactive.
